Midnight trading?
I've noticed that very often at midnight there's some heavy trading. Very often it's MovieStocks that are trading for no reason (that I can tell, at least), and sometimes the MovieStocks are moving in the OPPOSITE direction you'd expect them to--for example, a movie recently announced as going straight to streaming (this actually happened recently with a MovieStock trading up on high midnight volume after several straight days of tanking after it was announced it would not get a theatrical release; it happened a week or two ago with another MovieStock that traded up ~200% a few days before an announced $0 dead delist). The prices seem to go back to "normal" (or what I think is normal, at least) after a day or two. I'm curious if anyone has a theory for what's happening here. Is this something the HSX system is doing at midnight? Or some weird trading strategy employed by a group of traders (it can't be just one trader--the volume far exceeds position limits)?
