The slenderest of DL updates: a Friday figure for 1DAY, 1.8, and an estimate of "at least 5.5" for its OW. second gary Aug 19, 22:29

So much for Anne Hathaway's supposed starpower. {nm} HarryWarden Aug 19, 22:37

No one expected it to open high anyway.. it shouldn't be a star's sole responsibility to carry a movie {nm} karspov Aug 19, 22:40

no, that's pretty much the definition of a "star" {nm} moles Aug 19, 22:41

hmm...so if a movie fails, it's entirely the star's fault?...and if it succeeds, the star gets all the credit? {nm} tealfan Aug 19, 22:55

What's the point of a star if they can't get people to see a movie simply because they're in it? That's why studios pay them like they do. {nm} HarryWarden Aug 19, 22:56

I think it's more about the media attention/publicity the star can generate for the film and anciallary revenue. Capitals Aug 19, 23:13
