islander, this is not directed at you, it's just your forum post that I'm choosing to add my posting to. People have been repeatedly knocking this movie for its lack of intelligent design.
Instead of getting into all the research and historical accuracies Bay put into this, I'll just state one thing.....how many other people actually knew the story of "The Fallen" before this movie came out? None. Unlike the writers of GIJOE, who tried to recreate a childhood legend, MBay stuck with the story and got a huge number of people interested.
