So what set Safe House apart from the eerily consistant 20-30mm range Denzel movies usually open within?
I understood American Gangster at the time (Crowe, Ridley, lots of early hype), but I'm just not seeing where the extra appeal came from with Safe House. Is Ryan Reynolds some level of draw? Perhaps not enough to carry his own ****, but enough to push a movie with another star to a higher level? After this summer I thought the consensus was that he had no drawing power.
