that this is a 007 movie but a lot of bad buzz was over casting Daniel Craig and the hair color, by the purists. Don't hear a lot from the 007 purists any more. Cruise might not be the star he once was but their isn't a star in Hollywood that does BBUST franchises better.
I also read this earlier before the update at the bottom. Bad buzz doesn't always mean bad BO. A lot of people might not like TCUIS for a variety of reasons but that doesn't mean they won't see his movies. He has a reputation for delivering quality action movies. Most people that will see this movie have probably never heard of Jack Reacher and even less have read the book. Everybody knows you don't do a scene for scene adaption of a book, that compromises have to be made, Peter Jackson didn't make me unhappy. Some Reacher fans might stay home, most I think will go see it. Personally I think it's more of people just blowing off steam on the internet.
I don't go to Michael Bay movies because they win a boatload of awards, I go because he knows how to blow **** up. Hell some times I'm surprized he can put two sentences together in a scene that make sense. :)
