Does anyone doubt this is going to be a narrowcasting project and a low-quality production (for a Nic Cage filrm)?
Sure it could break out like Gibson's movie. One chance in a couple of hundred. Other than that, it will be a low-grade script, low-grade production that pays some bills for Cage, satisfies an easily satisfied and limited audience, and that's about it. All I ask is that it gets IPOd at H$30 or so, enabling me to make a few million by shorting it all the way to its Atlas Shrugged-like commercial fizzle.
What is the argument here? This is a career-disaffirming moment for Nic Cage. The film that is to result is relatively predictable.
IPO it so we can short it and make some money while a few fanboys ride it to the ground like Slim Pickens on that H-bomb.
