Strong Presales does not mean strong opening day/weekend
If 1,000,000 tickets are sold before the movie is out for opening day, for example, and we see all these reports that is #1 in presales and is HUGE.....studios start announcing all over the world it's a "stunning" start for this documentary, but then.....
opening day arrives, and only 50,000 tickets are sold, then you have 1,050,000 tickets sold.
Presales are not a good indication as to how a movie will do.
It's just people wanting to get their tickets early.
Looking at #'s I strongly doubt JACKO is going to even meet the low end of LA Times 10-12 million opening day. Oct 29, 05:55
