I don't remember the last movie that brought tears to my eyes in 3+ different passages of the movie. The Impossible is an intense movie. Of course it has plenty of shortcommings, but it's definitely one of the best disaster movies I've seen in a while...
Lincoln I thought it was rather boring, but it was still great. I have no doubt DDL is going to win the Oscar, and probably TLJ too. I have a couple of nominees still to watch.
SLINB was fun and I loved JLAWR. DeNiro not so much...
Argo was the first movie out of the BP Nominees that I can probably say it's the full package (DJANGO is tops in my list, but it won't win), yet of course it's not perfect, some things feel too overdramatic. I'm joining the rest of the people that are BAFFLed about the Best Director snub... :)
Moonrise Kingdome felt on par with Anderson's previous work. I lost interest midway through, or else I would say it's his best work.
My first 2 animated nominees were dissapointing. I'm a big TBURT fan and maybe because of that I was expecting a lot more, it felt too flat. And Pirates was just unenjoyable and unoriginal, even if it was well made...
