My point all along was taking contention with the idea of being "First!" between the Marvel and DC Cinematic Universes to have a female and African-American stanalone solo movies.
Antibody, you seem to be saying that it's a good thing that they are makign them *at all*, but adding no caveats to quality or potential for success (beyond, "WW and Cyborg are being introduced in SUPE2 so moviegoers will know them".)
Using this logic of "we've met the characters, so they should have their own movie", there should be a Nick Fury movie and and Agent Hill film coming out, which fulfills the exact same criteria (we've even seen these same characters in multiple films!). Just because hte audience has become aware of a character does not mean they will *show up* for that character in their own (very expensively produced) film.
While Wonder Woman certainly has Brand Name value in the public's conscoiusness, it's still kitschy Linda Carter jiggle and titter name value up to this point. Will Zack Snyher's female fetish fantasies be subdued enough in SUPE2 to overcome that? And who truly knows who Gal Gadot is outside of a smattering of fanboys following the film and industry folk?
Cyborg has it even worse: almost no one knows who/what he is, and he better make one hell of an impression in SUPE2 to even consider making a film centered around him! Green Lantern and Ryan Reynolds had MUCH better name recognition overall, and look how that turned out!
In closing, my overall point is that WB should be CAREFULLY building name recognition and appreciation for both these characters AND the actors plahying them before attempting to build expensive franchises around them. Shoehorning them into BvS for a combined 20-25mins of screen time is not exactly a brilliant plan.
