I think it's gonna be a relative success in Scandinavia, but our (and Asian) semsibilities offen differ wildly from US ones. I really don't
get all the animosity towards Chappie, the movie itself and Die Antwoord, but then again, I sometimes don't get the taste of the average Norwegian movie goer either.
As for Chappie, many critics and cineasts seem to hold Blomkamp to a very high standard and are thus the more disappointed when he delivers something commercial and not stellar. We've yet to see if the general audience shares these sentiments.
I maintain Chappie ought to at least outdo RoboCop-reboot, as it's lighter in tone, less cold and clinical and more endearing (although there's a bit of hyperviolence in Chappie - something for which we have the term "happy violence" in Norway.. )
