I thought the Forbes review in particular was insightful as to this one point of speculation (inside)

Posted by: Raven9167 on May 17, 15:45 in response to Moviesnob's post you're reading different ones from me. Variety said it...

The reviewer seemed to draw an inference from the fact that BBIRD had recently announced he would start work on NCRD2 as a sort of apology for what 1952 may bring in at the box office. I thought his examples of BSING and ANSTA doing something similar in the wake of their respective flops interesting.

Our polling for MD weekend shows Poltergeist well ahead of Tomorrowland. I hope it's a good remake RollingThunder May 17, 14:09

Reviews starting to come in for Tomorrowland...first reviews at least seem good GMov May 17, 14:10

I hope so because the commercials feel a bit hollow. I never count Disney out, though. {nm} RollingThunder May 17, 14:19

you're reading different ones from me. Variety said it was mediocre. Forbes said the ending ruins the film. Devin tweeted he didnt like {nm} Moviesnob May 17, 14:22

Drew at Hit {nm} nilephelan May 17, 14:36

Drew at HitFix loves Brad Bird and didn't like it either {nm} nilephelan May 17, 14:37

I think we have the first bomb of the summer. No Thursday shows, weak sales, mediocre reviews, long run time, confused general public {nm} nilephelan May 17, 14:38

Warner should have held Mad Max for this weekend and as I said before, had a stronger campaign to attract women. Prob cost them 5-10 mil {nm} Moviesnob May 17, 14:58

It's tracking for a pretty respectable 50 million dollar weekend, which isn't a guarantee of anything but isn't likely to lead to "bomb" {nm} notfabio May 17, 15:42

i would be shocked if it made $50 million {nm} professor smartbrain May 17, 15:51

if Clooney can get 'The American' to 20 million, he can get a disney scifi film to 50. {nm} tawdryhepburn May 18, 00:32

my girlfriend, who worked on the soundtrack, just said "I work at Disney and I dont know what its about" {nm} Moviesnob May 17, 15:06

Tomorrowland is The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones with a Disney paint job RazorHawk May 17, 17:20

darn phone... thingys got moved around some how {nm} RazorHawk May 17, 17:22

i got the gist {nm} Moviesnob May 17, 17:34

^ This made me chuckle. {nm} Initech May 17, 19:24

Poltergeist is screening for critics the night before opening, read into that what you will... {nm} notfabio May 17, 17:20

So no reviews prior to that then? Probably doesn't matter, horror is typically bulletproof {nm} Raven9167 May 17, 18:01
