Can AVATR be #1 for a 6th weekend in a row........
Lets look at the numbers. According to BOM the 3 day take this weekend was 42.8M. Sundays portion of that (15,150) is inflated because late night shows were full because of thge holiday next day. So lets say if the next day wasn't a holiday it would heve done 12,70. I got that number by reducing saturday by 26% which is what it did last weekend, a non holiday weekend. Using that formula this past week fri-sun period would have been about 40.35M without the big sunday night.
Now it gets tricky figuring the multiple for next weekend. Against is the the theory that its got to start dropping at some point, why not next week? Going for it it won the Golden Globe and some of the older people who didn't want to see it may see it now.
My guess is that a 25% drop off the 40.35 gives us 30.26M for next weekend. (a 30% drop, which I think might to to high would bring 28.25. Remember I did not figure Mondays total in this at all. we're just talking 3 day wekend numbers here.
So 28-30 for next weekend. Can the tooth fairy beat that? Is Legion undervalued? If it is I don't think by that much. Leaving AVATR #1 for a 6th week.
One more thing to consider is the record for the biggest 6th weekend which is the 25M held by Titanic. My money says good-bye to that record also.
