My guess is...
... There's a new generation of filmgoers "horrified" at a revelation made over a decade ago (and Salva even told the story, even if it's obscured by metaphor and exaggeration, with his little-seen film POWDER) and no one seems to bother using Google anymore to unearth the truckload of stories already written about the tired subject of Salva's tawdry past.
Let it be known that I too don't condone what he's been responsible for, but he has paid a price and reportedly has not repeated his offenses. Everybody (but the newbies who have rediscovered what has already been retired) has moved on and this is my argument for why anyone who newly discovers this information should know that Salva is considered fully rehabilitated and has earned the rare "second chance".
