What didn't I like? How about everything?
The film is boring, waaaaaaaay too long and completely forgettable. I wouldn't even save Day-Lewis' performance. The film is pure garbage. It's probably Spielberg's worst movie, as I can't even stand watching it for a few seconds.
Hook is ****, but at least Hoffman's performance is fun.
I think Spielberg lost his Midas Touch last decade. The last good movie, really good movie, he directed was Minority Report. The rest after that is either average or mediocre.
Perhaps TBFG has underperformed, but I'd rather watch just about any SSPIE film ahead of any HPOTT, TWLIT or any MCU property. Jul 04, 14:40
