I don't know why it would be regional. And for moviegoers, old is above 25. There's room for difference obviously, but on average older
people (+25s) have more commitments, less free time and better TVs, so they are more choosy about what they see in theatres, and reviews are one factor (along with trailers and marketing, WOM, etc) that helps them decide what to see and what to wait for. On average, of course.
