So: Logan was on cable tonight so I watched it. That this movie was nominated for a writing Oscar is jaw dropping.
That The Dark Knight, with all its intricacies and powerful vignettes about power and class, failed to capture a writing nomination, and Logan got the nod, this is just preposterous.
Honestly. I'm stunned. I"d heard so much about this movie. My goodness. There was a point there toward the end, with the usual final 30 minutes of completely ridiculous fighting and effects, and I desperately wanted to turn to something else, anything, even watch my Dodgers lose. But I stuck it out.
Yikes.
