Watched STAR8 last night on TNT for first time since seeing it in the theater
It's more of a mess now than I even thought it was then.
Stupid and insipid in many parts. Bad story-telling and bad writing.
The problem is clear right at the very start of the credits:
"Written and Directed by Rian Johnson".
Even Abhams had the good sense to bring in Kasden to help him write the script on STAR7.
Rian Johnson's claim to fame prior to STAR8 was having directed three episodes of Breaking Bad.
