We would rather pay $5 (as a "poppage fee") to bring buttered popcorn from home into a theater than consume a drop of the fake-oil stuff that is passed as "butter" by exhibitors.
We also recommend Flavacol, a flavored salt, for all popping purposes. Delta House purchased a lifetime supply of the stuff for about seven bucks at, of all places, Home Depot a few years back. Best investment we've made since we delivered the medical school cadavers to the alumni dinner . . . or got that truckload of fizzies we put into the swim meet . . . or maybe even since those 10,000 marbles.
Butter + Flavacol + any decent popping corn is the only recipe needed.
