Some thoughts about JB25....**WARNING** **Spoilers inside**
Time to whine.
I have been a James Bond fan since day one. I've seen'em all. Some good, some better. I think JB25 was decent, but I miss the opening "action sequence" ..yes, there were a few gadgets, and yes, this time Craig says "Bond, James Bond, etc....BUT
YOU DON'T KILL OFF THE MAIN CHARACTER of a franchise that has made billions for you in the past 50 years.
And PLEASE do NOT tell me (rumors true??) that you are going to now have a female "Jane Bond??" I don't know 'why' Hollywood has to make every popular movie and re-do it with every "woke" group represented...we have Oceans 11, 12, etc...except - oops, now let's do a FEMALE Oceans movie. Wait...how about a female Ghostbusters movie? Maybe we can do Overboard with the main roles switched? Or....how about "What WOMEN Want?"...only toss out Mel Gibson for that and make with another group. Sheesh. And...last but not least...we have Margo Robbie joining the Pirates of the Caribbean as the female front...It just keeps going and going.... How about coming up with something ORIGINAL?
C'mon now,...Ian Flemming had a good spy novel he wrote at Goldeneye. It was not a female 007. Hollywood is trying toooooo hard to be soooo "woke" any more that they are losing touch with the real movie fans.
My prediction: if Barbara Broccoli comes out with a "Jane Bond" it will NOT last as long (and probably bomb!) as Ian Flemming's Bond...and *I* for one, will skip it.
Give me a break.
OK, we now return you to your regularly scheduled HSX Ticker Talk.
(Sorry for the rant. I'm an upset Bond fan!)
