It's really not that uncommon... except that the weekend after Thanksgiving tends to be awful
People are coming off a five-day weekend and they need to catch up on work to be able to take more time off for the upcoming holidays. Most of these movies will probably tank, although there's also a few one-week qualifying runs that won't report.
