You don't seem to understand that it's probably going wide regardless...
Not playing well in NY/LA in a weekend where it's taking on Wall Street and The Town and other movies geared towards the same audience is not representative of how it can do nationwide when opening against weaker fare (as it does on Oct. 8). Look at the limited platform release of THe Bucket List... it was nothing special and yet it still opened wide in January (a/p planned) and did gangbusters... Lionsgate bought the movie cheap and they can afford to put more money into it. Maybe it won't make more than $5 or 6 million if it goes wide (depending on how wide) but it's still a worthwhile endeavor.
