Good point, although 50 FIRST DATES still opened to $40m 3-day... And if anything, this one seems like less of a straight-up romantic-comedy

so maybe less a Valentine's push... Both share relatively the same level of (non-)competition, with NO STRINGS ATTACHED being about the only other romantic comedy on the market, in a nearly-identical position box office wise to ALONG CAME POLY the year 50 FIRST DATES came out.
