DTHEW had three Harry Potter movies in his TAG (each at $250 cap).
On 1/17/12 he adjusted double adjusted:
Anonymous vs The Inner Life Of Martin Frost
War Horse vs The Boy In The Stripped Pajamas
Many traders were active during the holiday season and this was a very popular short.
On 1/30/12 he adjusted:
London Boulvard vs Harry Potter
Most traders that had already invested in his previous adjust simply stayed short because there was only two weeks between adjusts and this was a 50 point adjust (very popular investment).
Many players invested in this stock over the last two adjusts and then:
DTHEW had been attached to 'The Lady (TLADY)' and were expecting this adjust on 7/3/12:
The Lady vs Harry Potter (for a 50 point adjust)
The Lady did not report any box office and was delisted this last Monday with all the starbonds detached (= no DTHEW adjust this week).
Many players have been invested short in this bond since the double adjust. When The Lady did not report box office its opening weekend, (smart) players started slowly covering their shorts to free up money (which you can see on the starbond graph - the price starts rising after The Lady's opening weekend).
Summary: This was a high priced stock that had a couple of big adjusts and was expecting a third big adjust this week that did not happen. (Smart) players started covering their shorts early when they knew that there would not be a third adjust, causing the price to rise (and giving them a 20 point profit!).
This starbond is now in limbo and has no upcoming adjusts scheduled. Veronika Decides To Die has been sitting on a shelf for three years now and is expected to be dead delisted sometime this year. This starbond has not filmed any upcoming movie and it is unknown when/if this starbond will adjust. Logic says that since he will be dropping a Harry Potter for his next adjust that he is guarenteed to adjust downwards for his next adjust (especially since his price is currently above his TAG) but logic also says that there is no timeframe for that next adjust, and you could be waiting for years.
There are currently more than 10mill shares being shorted for this starbond, and I expect that the price will slowly drift upwards as all those shares are slowly covered over time. This starbond only becomes a good investment once it becomes attached to a new project (that is moving forward), until then it will just randomly move up and down with no logical reason.
