The scary part is, he probably will be fine.
I worked (for a short time) with people like that and its really scary how they think. They are simply amoral con artists. The literally see everyone else as walking piggy banks waiting to be emptied. And they get SOOOOO pissed off if you don't hand over your money on cue. I knew one saleswoman, nice looking, sweet and personable, seemed like a great girl. Until one customer's daughter reminded the customer that she had promised to help pay for the son's college. (This was about a $1,000 sale, maybe a $100-$150 commission.) She smiled, kept pitching for a while but quickly realized that there was no sale anymore. Then when we got outside and into the car she cursed a blue streak for a good hour about the daughter and how she had been c*ck-blocked by her and what a little b*tch she was, etc. etc. It was terrifying the complete change in personality.
But people like that always have other plans, sales, cons, contacts, whatever, in the wings. They just switch to the new plan or job and go on their merry way, ripping off anyone and everyone they can reach. They simply can't understand why what anyone else thinks matters in the slightest. Wait, let me rephrase that, they simply can't understand why anyone else matters at all.
