Anitbody has pointed out that most cable networks make a buy of x episodes, show x episodes. There is no risk of
cancellation. Under the current TV stock rules, there would be no purpose to speculate on the number of episodes.
I have proposed that there be a bonus for renewals. Perhaps a subtraction for non-renewals. Then there would be risk and reward. Otherwise, it is generally set it and forget it.
