Gun collecting, like car collecting- although I imagine both are small subsets of overall ownership. Also, sport. Shooting clay pigeons
isn't necessarily "killing", more like "simulated killing".
I'm pretty sure the next step of this argument brings in knives or other implements of possible maiming/killing, and asking "well, why don't we regulate those?"
1- Gun control, yeah!
2- But more car deaths than gun deaths...why not ban cars?
3- Cars are for conveyance primarily, not built with killing in mind. Guns were/are created with violence/killing as primary purpose.
4- Well, knives are created for cutting and can be used to kill, so why not ban those? And remember all those knife attacks in the UK where personal gun ownage is illegal? And those knife attacks in the schools in China?
5- But knives primary purpose is for cutting, like, meat and veggies and ****, not for stabbing people. Like cars, they have a utilitarian primary purpose. Lots of things can be used for killing. Heck, my fingers can be used for killing. But that's not their primary purpose.
6-10- Argh, I hate you and your anti-gun/pro-gun ways!
