Lobo, Thank you so much! That is what I need to hear as to better inform the director about how the song is received.
It is not personal, I wanted that honesty. The puff, puff pass was where alot of people have stated that the song turned them off. As I am not involved in the music business at all but I am very good friends with the director you input is very valuable. I do believe the band is trying to cater to their target audience but it will not help them hit the main stream.
I do appreciate the links; I have not heard the term bro-country but I think that is the best way to describe the style of country the last few years. I enjoy country music ( I meet Garth Brooks when I was 14) and the older country like Johnny Cash is more like rock music to me.
As a rocker at heart, growing up with hair metal and then my Seattle Grunge it seems to me that country of today is more rock than the sugar pop. I really like FFDP and Avenge 7x but I am not that angry any more. I think that is why a band like Nickelback is really popular around my neck of the woods. If I remember correct you were the one that explained the outrage about Nickelback to me a couple of years ago.
Long story short (WAY TO LATE) what you took the time to write is so appreciated and I feel very comfortable telling Joel Hicks the reaction from my friends on HSX!
