On the movies board, I said netflix was going to crush it with their movies winning oscars, but here i say they are hurting themselves with too much junk. heh. so which is it?...
I was just mad earlier when I posted above after scrolling through netflix that day and not finding anything to watch. But just now I added up how much I watch netflix and its more than i realized.
last year: 7 netflix movies, 5 netflix shows, 4 comedy specials, several disney rewatches (solo et al) and all the star treks. Is that a lot? typical? I used someones account so I really shouldnt complain! (but now I have to decide if I pay myself. hmmmm)
If I really think about it, I'm mostly right there with your thoughts. Maybe I'm a bit more bullish on their chances of winning best pic without the big theatrical release. and a bit more concerned that trying to please everyone may eventually hurt them (spending has to level off at some point, no? and disney+ would seem hampered by less varied content, but with more uniform tone and quality, people might eventaully respond better to that than to netflixs kitchen sink approach. I've noticed in retail, often the customer decides faster and easier when there are fewer options. several netflix show cancellations recently, but maybe they keep finetuning and getting better)
