Student Loans fit the bill. Have for a LONG time. In some ways they are worst than mortgages since the bankruptcy laws were changed not too long ago to make them undischargable by declaring bankruptcy. (That is to say, successfully completing bankruptcy doesn't wipe student loans out. You still have to pay them.)
