Cannot change profile avatar

So I'm trying to change my profile avatar and after uploading the new one, I select Apply Changes but nothing happens, it's still my old one. So I tried removing it first (which works) and then I upload the image but it reverts back to my original one.

Any ideas what's going on? I'm using Firefox v37.
