are technicalities that need to be taken into account before such claims (or here, options) can be paid.

For instance, even in a normal year the electoral vote counts are not final until Cpngress accepts them in January, over two months after the election. This time there may be numerous legal challenges to the totals in that interval.

==> I recommend that you add a warning to investors in the option descriptions that explains that those options will remain frozen for more than two months after trades are halted on Election Day!
