The way I trade now, I open up a window with the "Advanced Trader" up...I am clunky and not as good as some of my compadres so the way I "quick trade" may not make any sense but here is how I do it...I have two or three or four windows open. One is to the TT, one is to my port and two are on the "Advanced Trader". I set up my port to the current day's movement. So as I refresh the port, I can see if I am holding something the wrong way and depending on the time of day, news, situation on HSX I can either make a trade or sit. If I am playing reset at the unGodly hour of 3am, I buy a stock, then wait to click the back to Advanced Trader button and while that is loading, flip to my other Advanced Trader page and make another purchase.
But WAIT...to buy a bloody stock, I have to type in the ticker (sometimes I copy and paste to the 2nd character space and it is an invalid ticker so typing is actually faster sometimes), then go to the "How Much" box and type in MAX...(Ok, copy and paste might work a little faster here)...then if I do not want to "BUY" (the default shoice) I have to use the pull down menu or type in "C" or "Se" or "Sh" to get an action other than "Buy". Oh, and then click the process button.
That works out to four not very easy steps for me. And since I have bothered to play reset some, all this doesn't seem to slow down movement too much...I see same type of movement it just takes longer to trade. I want to say it was two easy steps before...put in the ticker then click buy, short, sell or cover. Maybe I misremember the golden years.
