no, they don't. do a test - your limit orders to (say) buy at .01 will at least half of the time buy at a higher price
obviously lots of people set their buy orders at around a similar price, so by the time yours goes through, the price has usually changed a lot. it's probably not so noticeable on higher priced stocks.
I used to use heaps of limit orders as I'm not on the same hemisphere as HSX, but I've had to stop, or at least set them with such wide margins that the price never moves to that. It's not about higher volumes of buying and selling, it's about the prices moving with pretty much each sale instead of bunching all those sales together to eventually shift an increment.
it makes it virtually impossible to play the limited releases with any sense of control. I'm guessing HSX doesn't need this data, that's why they've made two recent changes that disincentivise players from playing the small stocks.
