To make your car battery lasts longer you have to follow these simple steps: Make sure that charging rate of your car battery is proper because overcharging damages the battery as quickly as possible. If your battery is the type that needs to be topped off, check it regularly, especially in hot weather. Add distilled water in the battery when necessary and always replace the battery with battery that is recommended with original. In car maintenance battery plays a major role. Clean the top of the battery because dirt becomes the conductor and drains the power of battery. Further, as corrosion accumulates on battery terminals it becomes an insulator, inhibiting current flow. Bad driving habits just as sudden engine on/off and sudden brakes cause the damage to the starter of the car. Other factors include driving and weather conditions, mileage, vehicle age and excessive electrical draws like in-vehicle entertainment systems. Check the battery if you notice headlights and interior lights dim, accessories that fail to operate, or the check engine and/or battery light illuminated. Nowadays dry battery is introduced in car so that you don’t have to add distilled water in it.
