In Space Cowboys, a satellite from the 1950's malfunctions and a veteran astronaut (Clint Eastwood) is sent to space to repair the device that now threatens earth. The astronaut, Frank Corvin, who is in his 60�s, is one of the few men alive that is familiar with the old technology used to create Ikon, one of the first satellites ever to be built. Three of the astronaut�s pilot companions (Tommy Lee Jones, James Garner, and Donald Sutherland) from 1958 who were not granted acceptance into the space program are allowed to be a part of the mission. A younger crew (Loren Dean, William DeVane, and Courtney B. Dance) accompanies the retired Air Force test pilots.
