Scott Speedman made his American television series debut starring on Felicity as Ben, the object of the title character's affection. Born in London and raised in Toronto, Canada, Speedman spent most of his youth immersed in athletics. In 1992, as a member of the Canadian Junior National Swim Team, Speedman performed well at the Olympic trials but suffered a neck injury soon after and was forced to leave the sport. Speedman discovered his passion for acting when, on a dare, he appeared on Speaker's Corner, an open-forum television show. Speedman studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York before landing the role of Ben. Speedman's other movie roles include Duets and Underworld.
