Wendie Malick, one of the stars of NBC's popular sitcom Just Shoot Me, was born in Buffalo, New York and started acting on stage after working with former Congeressman Jack Kemp. Before her brief work in Washington, D.C., Malik was a fashion model for five years and traveled non-stop between New York, Paris, and Madrid
In 1999, Malik won a Golden Globe and was an Emmy Award nominee (Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series) for her work on Just Shoot Me. She portrays the beauty and fashion editor Nina Van Horn, a neurotic and pretentious ex-model struggling through middle age. As Judith Tupper Stone on the 1990, HBO comedy Dream On, she won four CableACE Awards as Best Actress in a Comedy Series. In addition to her acclaimed work on these comedy series, she has held regular roles on Trauma Center, as Dr. Brigette Blaine, and Good Company, playing the tyrannical Zoe Helstrom. Malick has also played recurring roles on NYPD Blue, Anything But Love,Baywatch and Kate & Allie. Her television work includes starring in several made for TV movies including Paperdolls, Dynasty: The Miniseries, Apollo II, Perfect Body and cable's North Shore Fish, based on a role in which she originated onstage.
Malick's theatrical background has included Guys and Dolls,Mame, Bah Humbug and the premiere of North Shore Fish.In 1995, she was nominated for the Artisitic Directors Award as Best Leadfor her work in the Los Angeles production of Round Trip.
Malick has played roles in the films The American President,Scrooged, Mr. Mike's Mondo Video, Funny About Love andBugsy. Upcoming projects include On Edge, an ice skating comedy with Jason Alexander and Tai Babilonia and the animated film, The Emperor's New Clothes, which she will provide a voice over along with David Spade, John Goodman and Patrick
