The first promotional trailer for the feature adaptation of the Jack Kerourac novel On the Road [ONTRD] has appeared online. Directed by Walter Salles [WSALL], the film about the beatnik generation stars Sam Riley [SRILE] as Sal, Garrett Hedlund [GHEDL] as Dean, Kristen Stewart [KSTEW], Kirsten Dunst [KDUNS], Viggo Mortensen [VMORT], Terrence Howard [THOWA] and a host of others. Though not yet announced, On the Road will likely makes its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
Just after his father’s death, Sal Paradise, an aspiring New York writer, meets Dean Moriarty, a devastatingly charming ex-con, married to the very liberated and seductive Marylou. Sal and Dean bond instantly. Determined not to get locked in to a constricted life, the two friends cut their ties and take to the road with Marylou. Thirsting for liberty, the three young people head off in search of the world, of other encounters, and of themselves.
