An October surprise came at the weekend box office as Tyler Perry's Boo! A Madea Halloween [BOAMH] debuted at number 1 with an estimated $27.6 million. Fans came back to the series and produced a CinemScore of "A".
Jack Reacher: Never Go Back [RECH2] nabbed $23.0 million to open in second place. Critics and audiences alike rated the sequel below the original.
Ouija: Origin of Evil [OUIJ2] opened in third place with $14.1 million, short of the first film's $19.9 million.
Last weekend's top film, The Accountant [ACTNT] fell to fourth place with $14.0 million. The thriller held 57% in its second frame to bring its totatl to $47.9 million.
Keeping Up with the Joneses [KUWTJ] bombed at the seventh spot with just $5.6 million.
Kevin Hart: What Now? [KHWN] tumbled 65% in its second weekend to $4.1 million and eighth overall.
