Box Score: Tenet was tepid over the long holiday weekend

Warner Bros. reported an estimated $20.2 million for Tenet [TENET] over the Labor Day weekend, which included additional box office from Canada since last weekend and early previews in the U.S. since Monday.  The studio is to be commended for releasing a $200 million during the pandemic, but the result came in below expectations.   Tenet received a "B" CinemaScore.

Last weekend's top film, The New Mutants [NMUTN] was dethroned to second with $3.5 million over the 4-day weekend, bringing its total to $12.3 million.

Unhinged [UNHNG] finished third at $2.0 million over the long weekend for a total of $11.6 million.
