After its better than expected opening weekend, Godzilla vs. Kong [GOVKO] looks to build on its tremendous positive buzz. The kaiju meetup could wreck another $18.0 million to repeat atop the weekend box office.
Voyagers [VYGRS] is this weekend’s lone new wide release. The PG-13 rated sci-fi film stars Colin Ferrell and a bunch of young actors. A month ago, Lionsgate opened Chaos Walking to just $3.8 million despite bigger starpower in Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley. Even with looser theater restrictions now, Voyagers is unlikely to top $4 million from 1972 locations.
Nobody [NOBOD] looks to hold the third spot with a third weekend haul around $1.8 million.
The Unholy [SHRNE] is likely to tumble more than 50% in its second weekend to about $1.5 million.
That’s the whisper from the virtual trading floor.
