A24 has released a second trailer for the comedy While We're Young [WWERY] written and directed by Noah Baumbach [NBAUM].  Ben Stiller [BSTIL] stars as a filmmaker happily married to his wife, played by Naomi Watts [NWATT], but going through a mid-life crisis.  Not wanting to join the ranks of their forty-something friends in parenthood, they try to recapture their youth by hanging out with a hipster couple in their mid-twenties.  While We're Young opens in  limited release on March 27th.

Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions have dropped the teaser for the musical biopic Love & Mercy [LVMRC].  Paul Dano [PDANO] and John Cusack [JOHNC] play the younger and older version of Brian Wilson, the founder of the Beach Boys, the quinessential California surf rock band.  The singer struggled with substance abuse and mental illness throughout his career.  Love & Mercy arrives in theaters on June 5th.

The 87th Academy Awards ceremony provided little drama this year as the winners mostly followed the script of the guilds. Host Neil Patrick Harris [NPHAR] provided some light-hearted comedy while Common and John Legend stole the show with their powerful rendition of "Glory", their Oscar-winning original song from Selma.  HSX offered traders AwardOptions of nominees in the top 8 categories and the HSX collective wisdom correctly predicted the winners in 7 of them.

Despite tumbling down 73% from from its debut, the erotic romance Fifty Shades of Grey [50SHD] struck an estimated $23.2 million to remain in first place.  The cumulative total stands at $130.1 million.

Moviegoers turned out in record numbers to be turned on by the S&M sex-filled Fifty Shades of Grey [50SHD], which set a new President's Day weekend record with $94.4 million over 4-days.  The romance also earned $36.7 million on Valentine’s Day to record the biggest single day ever in February.  Women made up 68% of the audience while 5% were over the age of 25.
