Warner Bros. has dropped the first trailer for the action adventure Mad Max: Fury Road [MMAX4] which premiered at the San Diego Comic-Con. George Miller [GMILL] returns to direct the fourth film in the original post-apocalyptic franchise with Tom Hardy [THARD] taking over the title role that made Mel Gibson famous. Mad Max: Fury Road hits theaters next summer on May 15th.
Scarlett Johansson out-muscled Dwayne Johnson as her sci-fi heroine Lucy [LUCY] topped his mythical hero Hercules [HERCL] at the weekend box office with an estimated $44.0 million. The female lead attracted an audience that was split evenly between male and female, while 65% were age 25 or older. Word of mouth though is mixed as moviegoers expected a more action-oriented film.
