After debuting the first footage in a Super Bowl TV spot, Paramount has released the first theatrical trailer for Captain America: The First Avenger [CAPAM]. Chris Evans [CEVAN] stars as Steve Rogers, a weakling recruit who undergoes a military experiment conducted by men played by Tommy Lee Jones [TLJON], Stanley Tucci [STUCC] and Dominic Cooper [DCOOP] as Howard Stark, and becomes the 'roid up superhero Captain America in order to defeat enemies of the Allies during World War II.
Universal has uploaded a new, full trailer for the family comedy Hop [IHOP]. While the previous trailer focused on the interaction between a live-action James Marsden [JMARS] and the animated Easter Bunny voiced by Russell Brand [RBRAN], the latest trailer shows more of the animation from the folks behind Despicable Me and reveals the nefarious plot of a chick named Carlos, voiced by Hank Azaria [HAZAR], who has designs on taking over Easter.
Disney has released a new, full trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides [PIRT4] which reveals more of the plot about the search for the Fountain of Youth. However, lost in the amalgam of close ups and fast cuts, the story already looks needlessly complicated like the previous sequels.
Heading into the weekend, three new releases and two holdovers all had a chance had at the top spot. Bradley Cooper [BCOOP] and Limitless [LMTLS] surged ahead and came out on top with an estimated $19.0 million at the weekend box office. The thriler attracted an older audience that was 69% over the age of 25.
Rango [RANGO] stayed in second place with $15.3 million. The animated film has grossed $92.7 million through three weekends.

The director of Super Size Me brings you along as he chronicles the making of this movie which takes a look at product placement in Hollywood.
A week after the male-targeted, sci-fi actioner Battle: Los Angeles [BATLA] dominated the box office, three new male-driven vehicles enter the marketplace looking to knock off the champ. While Battle: Los Angeles missed with critics, word of mouth has been much more favorable. However, big effects-laden films are often frontloaded. Battle: Los Angeles looks to tumble about 55% to $16 million, which could still be enough to hold off the newcomers and repeat at number one.
Sony has revealed a new trailer for the No Strings Attached romantic comedy Friends with Benefits [FWBFT]. Emma Stone [ESTON] and Andy Samberg [ASAMB] are introduced as the exes of Justin Timberlake [JTIMB] and Mila Kunis [MKUNI], respectively. Patricia Clarkson [PCLAR] steals the scene playing a similar cool mom character from Easy A, which was also directed by Will Gluck.
Universal has released the first trailer for the comedy Larry Crowne [LCROW], or Community: The Movie. Tom Hanks [THANK] plays a recently laid-off man who decides to start over at a local college. In a public-speaking course, he meets a class of outcasts and falls for the teacher, played by Julia Roberts [JROBE]. Looks like Cameron Diaz isn't the only bad teacher around this summer.
Universal has unveiled a second trailer for the R-rated comedy Bridesmaids [BRDSM]. The new and improved trailer shows more wit and humor from the film which premiered a final cut to an enthusiastic response at the South by Southwest Festival. With its raunchy tone, Bridesmaids hews closer to the recent bromance movies than the typical chick flicks. Bridesmaids opens on May 13th.
The destruction of Southern California by an alien invasion proved popular with moviegoers as Battle: Los Angeles [BATLA] scored an estimated $36.0 million to top the weekend box office. The sci-fi action film was well recieved by guys who made up 68% of the audience. However, that demographic usually frontload a film's first weekend.
Rango [RANGO] declined 39% in its second weekend to $23.1 million for second place. The animated film has wrangled $68.7 milllion thus far.
