Adjusts of an opening weekend stock.. on a "normal" weekend...work like this:
You own MOVIE stock at $45.02.
The movie earns $35M opening weekend.
HSX adjusts the stock (2.7 x $35) to $94.50
You paid $45.02 for it, so you earn $49.48 for every share you hold.
If you own 3200 shares - your profit is $49.48 x 3200 = $158,336
Don't make it more complicated than it is... you take what MOVIE grossed at the box office for the weekend - then multiply that by 2.7 - which gives you the stock's adjust price by HSX. Your profit is the difference between what you paid for MOVIE vs. what it adjusts to...factoring in commissions, when you bought it, or when you sell.
