A question for all the movie industry experts, insiders, and know-it-alls...
If I’m not mistaken, it’s pretty much a guarantee that Memorial Day and Thanksgiving are going to be huge weekends at the box office. But it never occurred to me until eariler this year -- you really don’t want your movie opening on Mothers Day weekend if you're trying to make a lot of money. Which begs the question: looking at ALL the holidays and holiday weekends throughout an entire calendar year, can someone please tell me which holidays are historically good weekends at the box office where people turn out in droves, and which holidays are historically bad for business? Thanks.
