Well, a couple of things I've noticed regarding

Movies that break $100M in adjusts... typically, BUT NOT ALWAYS they will drop 6-10 points or more after they adjust.  This is not always true, but in many cases it is.  Cowboys & Aliens for example adjusted to $115, but currently it's much lower... I've held it short since adjust.

SMURFS on the other hand, has been going higher since adjust - due to it being more 'family' oriented, with more families going to see it... so you have to watch sometimes what the demographic is for the movie as well.

RSAPE has also gone UP in price since it adjusted... so it's NOT a hard an fast rule that movies always drop after adjust, but it DOES happen... also the time of year (summer, holidays) movies have better 'legs' than other times of the year.

Yes, some trends are there... like the time of year, and movies that typically adjust REALLY high (PIRT4??) usually will always drop 10-20 points since many people sell off after adjust to use the cash for other things.

You will get a feel for how the markets react to various movies when you follow adjusts and see what happens, but yes... there is some "gut feelings" you may have to rely on for various films.
