Also, when a bond gets attached to or detached from a project, or right after a bond adjusts, there's a flurry of movement on it.
A day or two or three after, the bond might continue in that general direction as investors divest themselves or, looking to the future, see what the next adjust might be. However, as with any stock or bond, as time goes on, people tend to trickle out of their holdings if the investment is too long term and it'll start to bleed.
For example. Bond X has just adjusted to 15, and we see that it's next adjust is Batman12, and it'll probably adjust up to 150, but that's a year and a half away. Still, immediately post adjust, the stock goes up to 30, then 40, then 50. And it sits there. For a month. All those people that bought it post adjust just have it sitting there. Some of them realize they want to invest in something more short term, so one of them sells it off here, another there...all this incremental selling nibbles away at the price and it starts to go down. And if you were late to the bandwagon, buying at 50 and thinking you could make a 300% profit, you're noticing that instead, you are in the red. Well, you'll still make that profit in a year and a half, but short term, you're bleeding because others are moving on to something else.
