So, my portfolio has gotten to the size where I'm investing in long term projects, some of which come out beyond 2012. Recently I bought into Transformers 4 on the news of Michael Bay announcing its prospective release date. Fast forward to today, and I was doing a check of my investments and realized that since reaching a high of mid 140s in late February, the stock has lost me about 3 million fake dollars, pretty much all of my profit. Diggity dang!
So what do I take from this? I thought it would be reasonable to hold T4 because it has a director and release date. Was I mistaken? Do you guys with larger ports even try to keep track of slow blockbuster bleeders in your port, or do you just hold and know that at some point it will even out as the release date approaches, excepting some bombshell like what happened to Lone Ranger or Dark Tower?
Any advice on holding similar projects long term would be much appreciated.
