Losing money when selling stocks.

I sold a stock that had a net gain of 26 thousand and i Lost money so then i tried selling a stock with absolutely no gain whatsoever and i lost money in my net worth and my change today went down as well again. What is going on?

also, sometimes there is "chuckage," e.g., you push "sell" when the price is $5, but the sell processes as $4.97 {nm} daveart Jul 05, 15:55
